On Saturday, November 3, with GLL members, Scoutmasters, Parks and Recreation leadership and military personnel in attendance, Grant Alix dedicated his Eagle Scout Badge Project. The project included the Butler Fields installation of a flagpole and a stone plaque commenmerating veterans that served in our military. The project entailed obtaining all proper permits, learning and implementing the appropriate methods of erecting a flagpole and its required lighting as well as the producing the military plaque and its mounting stone. Also included was the research and  production of the dedicatioon ceremony

Eagle scout Alix led the dedication ceremony and cited the visible remembrance of the blessings that are produced by military sacrifices and bestowed on the multitudes of baseball players that use the Butlers every Spring, Summer and Fall.

As the flag was raised for the first time, the sound of "Taps" was heard coming from the distant forest.

Grant Alix is a former Glastonbury Little Leaguer, Glastonbury Amature Baseball player and will be playing his Senior season on the GHS baseball team this coming Spring.
