The Challenger Division is generally for special needs players from ages 5-18 years old. This division uses a baseball(s) and bat(s) designed to accommodate the players’ capabilities. The ball may be hit off a tee or a player may be pitched to.. Players rotate defensive positions after every number of batters as determined by team coaches. The inning is over after everyone has batted. The Glastonbury team(s) will play teams from District 7 membership and other neighboring towns. Game rules may be adjusted to accommodate opposing towns’ mandates. There will be approximately a 10 game schedule preceded by two weeks of 4-5 total practices beginning in early April. The season ends by the second weekend in June. A post season Jamboree is planned after that weekend.. Games are played once or twice per week. Weekday games start promptly at 5:45pm p.m. and Saturday games at 9:30am, 11:30am or 1:30pm. Rain dates will vary this schedule. Home games and practices will be played on Glastonbury’s 60ft diamonds. A special Challenger Day will be held in early June at Ross Field. Notification of team assignments and schedules will occur in late March.
